From March 17, 2025 to March 28, 2025, a Japanese cuisine training was held by NSU at Vietnam Maritime University.
The training course was designed to help Chief Cooks and catering crew become familiar with Japanese food and improve their Japanese cooking skills, in order to meet the requirements of working on NSU vessels with Japanese officers.
During the two-week training, the selected Chief Cooks and catering crew directly practiced to prepare and cook breakfasts, lunches and dinners according to standard Japanese recipes. Under the dedicated guidance of an experienced and well-trained Chief Cook, the trainees not only improved their cooking skills but also mastered the art of food presentation, ensuring that each dish embodied the spirit and standards of Japanese cuisine.
The dishes were carefully evaluated by Board of judges based on various criteria such as aesthetics, taste and Japanese culinary standards. Board of judges included representatives from NSU, VSUP and VINIC. Two Japanese members of Board of judges highly appreciated the trainees' presented dishes.
The training ended successfully and created an opportunity for the trainees to expand their knowledge, improve their professional skills as well as best meet the requirements of onboard work.
