The Annual Seafarers’ Meeting 2024

On September 18th 2024, VINIC held the Annual Seafarers’ Meeting 2024 with the attendance of representative of the All Japan Seamen’s Union in Vietnam; leaders of NS United Kaiun Kaisha, Ltd. (NSU) and Vietnam Maritime University (VMU); more than 500 seafarers and seafarers’ representatives. This meeting is organized annually by VINIC with a view to report on the achievements in providing seafarers to work overseas. It is also a good opportunity for attendees to greet each other, enjoy socializing to strengthen the cooperative relationship between NSU, VMU, VINIC and seafarers in crew recruitment, training and maritime labor service.
In the welcome speech, President of NS United Kaiun Kaisha, Mr. Kazuma Yamanaka expressed his sincere gratitude towards the close cooperation of seafarers provided by VINIC to work on the fleets of Japanese shipowners in general and NSU in particular. Furthermore, he highly appreciated the outstanding quality of VINIC’s seafarers who have significantly contributed to the safe and effective operation of NSU vessels. President Yamanaka committed to continue ensuring a stable employment and maintaining a modern, safe working environment for VINIC’s seafarers as well as bringing more solutions in improving the living standards for onboard seafarers.
As a recognition and gratitude gesture towards the long-term commitment of VINIC’s seafarers to the shipowners, 51 “Long Service Bonus” awards with a total value of USD 56,000 were granted to the seafarers whose onboard working experience reaches 5 years, 10 years and 15 years. Furthermore, 60 prizes with a total value of over VND 220 million (nearly USD 9,000) were presented to the seafarers who won the lucky draw.
